New on the spot fines for hours infringements

Soon to be introduced into UK legislation is a move by DVSA to provide their examiners with the power to issue on the spot fines to drivers for hours infringements committed over the last 28 days, both in the UK and in Europe. At £300 per offence, they can issue up to 5 fines at a time.

EMISSIONS NOW ADDED TO DVSA ROADSIDE CHECKS

From August this year the DVSA will be targeting lorry drivers and operators who try to cheat vehicle emissions. This will be done via the use of normal roadside checks with the new emission test added to the items the DVSA enforcement staff will look at. The new checks will target those who break the law and should help to improve air quality.
