Normally we don’t publish stories about board appointments at the DVSA, but this one caught our eye. The Transport Secretary Chris Grayling has appointed Ian Baulch-Jones as a non-executive director, and the reason we have added this story is because of Ian’s previous roles – at the National Grid, Deutshe Bank, E.ON, Morgan Est PLC and ITNET UK.

Ian Baulch-Jones has a background in IT and business transformation… we wondered if this is the DVSA taking a step towards in introducing more IT related processes, or perhaps he has been brought in to streamline the DVSA itself?

Bridget Rosewell OBE, Chair of DVSA, said: ‘I am delighted that Ian Baulch-Jones is to join the board of the DVSA and I very much look forward to working with him. His knowledge and experience will be of great benefit to the board, and the agency, helping people stay safe on Britain’s roads’.

We think it will be worth watching this space for innovations…
