We had a great chat with Scott Evans, co-founder of Pink Self Storage, which is the UK’s first tech start up within the self-storage industry. Scott, 25, is from a web/app development background, who’s founded and built companies in UK and internationally.

In early 2006 at the age of 16 Scott founded CustomisedSigns a digital print company that he went on to win SouthWales young entrepreneur of the year award with. Scott then sold this arm of the company off to focus all his efforts on another new venture - wallpaperink.com that he has built to be a world leader in bespoke wall murals

Scott is a technology addict who wants to make peoples lives easier through providing an on demand delivery app that makes it super simple to get what you want when you want.

So, what’s new and innovative about Pink Self Store? You’ve probably guessed, he has brought hi-tech to the self-store industry by way of a drive through and completely automated facility.

How it works:

1. A user signs up using their mobile – the process takes under 45 seconds.

2. They instantly get texted a pin code that gives them access to a container.

3. The gate allows them entry via number plate recognition.

Their sites are unmanned, which means no face to face interaction is required, and as they have limited staff, they can offer cheap rates – bonus!

In a world where technology is developing every day, we hope to see Pink Self Storage take off even further. Scott will be at The Movers & Storers Show in November where we hope he will provide us with an insight into all things tech!
