Channel 5 has just launched a new TV Series following crews from Pickfords carrying out removals around the country. Called ‘The Removal Men’ (ahem – and women!), it airs on Wednesday nights. We watched the first episode, and apart from the whiny annoying voiceovers, it was nice to see the industry get some publicity at last. But is all publicity good publicity?

Is it just free advertising for Pickfords (and how on earth did they land it?!)? Does watching an obese removal man in an old-style apron really send the right message of the industry in the 21st century? We particularly liked the bit where they lost, sorry, ‘temporarily misplaced’ a container in their warehouse. And the master class in piano moving. Are we being too harsh?
